“Dreams – (in four short acts)”~by Michael Graves

“Dreams – (in four short acts)”

Act I:

Your dreams are
your
path

from tragedy
to
joy.

You
decide
to walk the path
or not.

Staying home with
dying dreams
though warm and safe

is tragic.

———-

Act II:

You have never dreamed that
which you cannot
achieve.

And you never will.

This fact
terrifies
some who dream

into disbelief.

It terrifies far more
those who fear

dreamers.

This truth is
as simple

and real

as dust motes
riding sunbeams.

———-

Act III:

Fears:

You create them
permit them and
adopt them
You enshrine them
and worship them.

And that is the

only

reason
that they do not
leave.

It is only your fears
that will stop your dreams.

This has always been
a comfort
to the courageous

and to those who suddenly realize that
they are about
to become

courageous.

———-

Act IV:

Joy is in
your right hand
tragedy
in your left.

Both are already in
your grasp.
