” TRIGGERFISH ” ~by Martin Gedge

POEM ” TRIGGERFISH ” by martin gedge

Image may contain: one or more people

Two lines drawn in the sand
enough to mark and brand
to feed and curse this twisted verse
the measures of a man
to bait and lure this hook
just enough to catch a crook
with every page with eyes engage
to read this dirty book
and with every slice of pie
through a hole and evil eye
your soon to learn the finger burn
a friend or foe or spy
and the views of all your peers
in between the sheets for years
the time has come with pants undone
to face your darkest fears
and a judge to rule your case
in the challenges you face
caught in the box with chain in locks
to crawl into your space
and like a dog without a bone
with a cell to call your home
just like the swine you do the time
to rot in there alone….
