BE MY BELOVED~by Annie Johnson

Image may contain: one or more people, people standing, ocean, sky, twilight, cloud, outdoor, water and nature

As the brilliant sun drowns in the evening twilight –
Be my beloved.
When storm clouds roll in to obscure the starlight –
Be my Beloved.
With your lips of fire and your tongue of flame –
Be my beloved.
Touch me, hold me, desire me; I feel no shame –
Be my beloved
With soft eyes aglow like a lamp that is burning –
Be my beloved.
Let the joy of you fill me and ease my yearning –
Be my beloved.
This caged heart beats within my breast for only you –
Be my beloved.
Years are fleeting, flying, passing, dying and so few –
Be my beloved.
When you’re the only one I remember ever having kissed –
Be my beloved.
When all the oceans have evaporated into pearly mists –
Be my beloved.
With the depth of the universe mirrored in your eyes –
Be my beloved.
When passion like a streaking meteor flares and dies –
You’ll still be my beloved.
