” CLOSET CASE “~by Martin Gedge

POEM ” CLOSET CASE ” by martin gedge

Take the fears that lurk the dark

and live behind your wall

for in the pitch to scratch and itch

will lead your skin to crawl

and from the door a rotten core

a presence fills the room

and shadows leak to hide and seek

to pound your heart kaboom

you keep the whispers to yourself

and all your voices in

for trapped in mind your spinning twine

is bleeding from your grin

and tense to feel the nerves are real

to crack the outer shell

and through the hole a burning soul

brings vengeance from the well

with teeth to feed this creature breed

like flesh upon the slab

a simple brain you cannot tame

no matter how you stab

and to its face this closet case

that’s perched upon your bed

to pick the horn of every thorn

and place it on your head….
