THE LONELY UNCERTAIN
JOURNEY INTO DEMENTIA ,
Walking aimlessly along the shore
Golden sand beneath her toes
Mind cast adrift
A Life now full of troubles and woes ,
Her life as she knows it
is on a spiraling decent,
Not knowing which way to turn
Her energy totally spent ,
Dementia was just a word ,
She’d heard spoken
To her it was an unknown disease ,
Now her brain it has begun to seize ,
She worries and frets ,
Who can she turn to ,
There is so much to be sorted
Before she forgets ,
She feels a deep sense of loneliness ,
And she is really scared ,
So very isolated ,
Of the unknown future she is so afraid ,
Who will take care of her ,
A burden she doesn’t want to be ,
She is so terrified ,
Of losing her dignity ,
She feels despaired at the thought,
Of losing her beautiful memories ,
Each one so precious ,
Of her much loved friends and family
This disease has begun to
overwhelm her life ,
As it stealthy creeps in ,
Her heart is filled with immense grief ,
She embraces the beauty
Capturing the serenity of the sea ,
Wiping away her silent tears ,
Softly Sighs , knowing ,
What is to be , Will be ,
