Covet and Wait*~by Constancio Sulapas Asumen Jr

(Opus532 ~> Covet and Wait)
To sit and wait for things you know not what,
Proves not my notion of nothing to do.
Like the story without a cogent plot,
Lies ahead miles of road to follow through
Aware that you see only what you know:
While you covet, you cannot wait around
You got to scour through every bit of ground!
Legend has it, some turkeys in the rain,
Meet their demise by drinking in the wrong;
They face the sky, oblivious of the strain
With mouths held high, no matter for how long,
They catch the rain, facing the storm headstrong:
While for a drink you covet for respite
You go for it without straining to wait!
The hoi polloi must be cajoled or crushed,
Ran Machiavelli’s mantra for The Prince;
Urge patience, never sanction being rushed,
Unless it might augment your recompense
Or vouch to camouflage incompetence:
Covet and wait, serves lost cause paradigm;
You need to scheme the winning stratagem!
