Fireworks With You
l said once that I’ll receive your love, whole,
darling, clean sheets and open door,
that I’ll move mountains if l must,
I’d pick myself up,
or just lie with you, on the coldest floor.
l said, come what may, I would love you more.
l said I’ll be the one forever on your side,
l promised you my sword and shield,
our home won’t be on the line, dear,
nestled ln each other’s arms,
we can play this God forgotten field.
Our struggles can take some, but more, they will yield.
l said my eyes will be always ln search of yours,
that you’re the guiding light, clarified,
l said if we ever lost the sparkle:
I’d take you back to the ignition,
that brought the fireworks on our side.
I’d unfold your faded heart and mine open – wide!
