“SOLID AS THE SOUL”~by Martin Gedge

POEM “SOLID AS THE SOUL” by martin gedge

Image may contain: flower

God of night

in angel white

shine your light on me

for I the dark

will need your spark

for those to truly see

in depths inside

for all I hide

will soak the shallow skin

for thee to pour

through every sore

and kindly walk right in

to wear my shoes

and feel the blues

that drown my ocean eyes

of pain regret

I often let

that cloud the darkest skies

on bended knees

I ask you please

as pieces fall apart

a puzzled look

into my book

that beats an open heart

to see the true

as pure as you

of all that makes me whole

that I believe

it’s time to leave

the shell that holds the soul

and looking back

for all I lack

I will not shed a tear

for time has come

to see the sun

for light I shall not fear…
