Unknown graves
As I walked past a grave
I felt a tug
and looked back to see
There was nothing really
Just a sparrow tweeting
and some flowers
after sudden summer showers
I smiled to the stone
And it smiled back
… The dead in its peace,
And we in a
Selfish walk.
I turned my back
To find my way
I could hear a plaintiff cry
Beneath the grass and a few feet away
the living never craves
For ballads of unknown graves
