THE SWEET IGNORANT DAYS
When the wind called the waves to flow
Echoing over the humble patch of grass to sway,
It leaped our wandering feet to stormy weather
Knowing not its depth we crossed the river.
We had neither promises nor rules to obey
Tricking us to cleaver ways winning goals,
Life was never solitary without friends or love
Like joyous leaves we clustered in curious ways.
I remember the sweet ignorance of the days
Loudly shouting out our hearts what we thought,
Threaded our feet through difficult roads
Like soldiers wounded we walked caring not death.
Now life moves like a scissors on our neck in saloon
We sit like a crane to find fish in this weedy pond,
Missing one and searching for the other in fear
I dearly like to know my sweet ignorant days.
