“NIGHTLIGHT”~by Martin Gedge

POEM “NIGHTLIGHT” by martin gedge

Image may contain: plant, tree and outdoor

A smile from the heaven’s god
with dimple cheeks and sounding nod
innocence within a child’s heart
the reaching hands to comfort souls
a wipe of tears as rivers flow
the reassuring that braves a fresh new start
a caring kind with graceful voice
a world of dreams and spoken choice
a look of love that wishes you away
a night to light your castle walls
with teddy bears and water falls
and songs to sing as windy curtains sway
around this room a cuddle warm
since the birth a baby born
a hug to chase the scary part of dark
the book to closed your yawning skies
to soft of covers and goodbyes
will wrap you in the precious beating heart
and like a whisper on the wind
a kiss to lock you tightly in
love be it so to gently say goodnight
hush hush my sweet and close your eyes
to fill your room with butterflies
and sleep beneath the stars that burn so bright…
