Rewind
Rivers were pushed back and
the years changed their faces
yet
in some of the traces
left
l recognized my own
each day:
the waters restrained
for my lovers’ graces
to deny then revert
the hurting:
the truth?
on this pair bound journey
we were walking alone.
And what-pray-have you and l learned?
when we searched
for each other
for ourselves
for love
underneath
this flesh clad dome
come heart!
that small worlds apart
and roads barely
there
each one of us found
that lonesome way
home.
