The Ark~by rldubour

The Ark

One day when I was working high, way up in the sky.

I looked down towards the street and saw my brother walking by.

He could not see me through the brightness of the sun.

I decided at his expense, I would have a little fun!

I yelled out his name with a deep drawn out sound.

He stopped right there and just looked around.

I thought, why not, should I continue this charade?

As he kept looking his face in a daze.

Again I yelled with a commanding sound.

He stopped again and only looked around.

The longer that he stood there the more he looked confused.

I tried not to laugh I really was amused!

He finally said, “Who is this?” “This voice I can not see?”

I said, “My son, this is God and you better listen to me!”

“It is going to rain for forty days you have to build an ark!”

‘And gather all the animals and store them in that park.”

Again he stood there motionless, then I heard him speak.

He said, “I don’t know how to build an ark.” His voice was very weak.

I said, “No problem son, in your pockets I put the specs!”

“Just reach inside now you better check!”

He reached inside just pulled out change.

I said, “Check again I am going to make it rain!”

Now more confused and maybe scared.

I said, “Check again I know they are there!”

I heard him say really loud, “Why are you asking me?”

I said, “My son, you are the first one that I see!”

When I thought he had enough, I had to end this fast.

I said, “My son don’t you believe?” “Why did you even ask?”

Then I gave myself away, “Hey brother as I waved.”

“I am so glad to see you on this summer day!”

He wanted to just kill me but, I was way up high.

Now we laugh about the day, the voice came from the sky!
