PRAYER FOR THE EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS
O Earth! Disjointed in bones for a while
Crumble into a shrieking cry in tremor,
You burst into tears in helpless moments
Such long years you have moved like a ship
Carrying your children in the space.
Albeit with the task of restless journey
You suffer for a while as in your middle age,
Sweet homes are hurled into dust
Hearts are ripped and torn for frugal death.
You are also not aware of deadly forces
Such is hidden in all things created,
The crack and fracture in your bones
A dreadful event for mankind for tears.
The debris of death rattled in Nepal
Japan, Montana and many more suffered,
Separated the kids from their toys for ever
Against warning we turn our home a hell.
Cities are evacuated in the tricks of Nature
Fingers at our limitations for hidden assail,
The grief of my voice I match in a concert
O Lord! Bless mankind in my evening prayer.
