Mind and Body
Mind still remembers though body can forget
Is it one to be grateful or one to regret
What the body once was used to feel
Now a thousand layers for mind to peel
To be divested of in such a short season
The silent memories now shout treason
Mind remembers though it wishes to forget
Past visions that one can thank or regret
Sufferings that one’s body can still feel
A thousand layers for the mind to keel
To wear appropriate mask for each season
The hidden face of truth shouts treason
Mind remembers though body may forget
Emotions of gratitude and also of regret
What the body once refuses to even feel
Now for the same, mind in prayers kneel
To cherish the miracles of every season
To forgetful time mind now shouts treason
Can mind remember what body did forget?
Is it one to be grateful or one to regret?
What the body once was used to feel
Now a thousand layers for mind to peel.
To be divested of such in a short season
Will the fading memories now shout treason?
