Mountain Stream
Painting by Kent R Wallis
From fineatandyou.com
water rushes round rocks
where ice used to crawl
lifeblood coursing for cataracts
tumbling over the smoothed
granite edge of high ledges
thrust up by the first heaving
breaths of the earth vital fluid
in plunge down to cold sparkling
pools where it swirls for a time
to regather momentum for
its drive to replenish the sea
